Incredible India!

India was so amazingly beautiful and the people we met were unforgettable!
The colors and smells and sounds were so different from anywhere I have been!
The women's colourful sari's and the children's beautiful brown eyes.
Missing the wonderful children at the alc home. And their adorable welcoming smiles!
Always saying sister, sister, come! Come! Sit sit!
Walking down back country dirt roads with sheep and pigs and their shepherds is a memory I'll never forget..
And seeing the pig shepherds try to get his pigs to stay in the river to get clean.
Or the men trying to get their water buffalos out of the river.
Water buffalos everywhere! And they love water!
Seeing the women doing their laundry in the river and beating their clothing on rocks.
Chickens and dogs on the loose everywhere.
And of course watch where you walk on the streets because there are cow patties here and there!!!
Our group thought of jobs we would do in India if we  lived there.
Some of the jobs: ferry boat captain, fruit stand lady, rice patty worker, rickshaw driver, airport security wand person, and farmer. My job would be sheep shepherd. :-)
I will think of India with a big heart. :-) hoping to return one day!
Pray for the people in India! Pray for the Christians in India! I met so many precious people there!

Our site seeing trip of the golden triangle was amazing!
We started out catching a train from Delhi to Agra! We booked a taxi driver for the rest of our tour. So we were well taken care of.. minus the side book trips to the " company store". Where everything was over priced. But our taxi driver was awesome and he took us to other options as well. If anyone ever needs a guide in India I would recommend him! Ashwani! :-) lots of great stories we heard and it was interesting to learn about customs such as arranged marriages and stuff from him.
So we woke up early in the freezing morning to go see the Taj Mahal for Sun rise! Still worth it! Amazingly beautiful! Go if you can!
We stayed the night in Agra in a budget hotel.. very budget :-). But very nice! They had great food and since they did not have hot showers they offered us buckets of hot water.
After seeing the Taj. We met our taxi driver and started our drive to Jaipur. On the way we stopped at a ghost city. Our driver set us up with a guide that brought us all around the outside of the city and then snuck us in the back door. He was a humorous guide with funny simple English! We enjoyed him very much . :-)
After being brought around the fort / ghost city we left and arrived in Jaipur as the sun was setting. Our driver dropped us at our amazing hotel with RUNNING HOT WATER!!!! Oh happy days  of hot showers!!! We are all spoiled in the US..
Just be thankful ok?
:-)
After 3 weeks of cold bucket showers in India. Hot water is an amazing luxury:-)
We had a great meal across the street from our hotel and then went shopping!!!!
Bags getting heavier... dangerous..
Next morning we drove up to the Amber fort and ride elephants up the hill into the fort.. amazing experience! We had a cute little driver take us up on a beauty of an elephant named Lechme. A girl elephant :-)
We spent a while wandering the fort taking photos and then met our driver for lunch and more shopping and ahem... company stores. By this time my friends had become real good at getting us out of the company store fast :-). Thanks guys!
We did get sucked in to some things but it could have been worse. Thankfully we had excuses of not enough room in our bags. :-)
Indian shop owners can be very persuasive and persistent .. and they always were offering tea or something to drink.
We toured a little more around saw more forts and hiked up a hill to try to see the sunset.. fail.. but it was pretty on the hill. And we got henna. I got a pretty design on my foot. :-)
Then most of our sight seeing was over.
More shopping blah blah.. :-) sleep eat and drive more hours. One more company restaurant..:-)
Our driver did take us through a back road in Rajasthan and we got to see how the people in that area lived. Real interesting to see! And the women wore their saris differently there. Cool stuff!
Well.. then we went back to Delhi airport!

So the quote everyone is quoting on my trip.
"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart always will be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place."
So true.
Now I'm sitting in my floating home in Madagascar with old and new family.
Another adventure is starting now.
5 weeks working in the dental clinic here with Mercy ships.
Really thinking it's not enough time.. I might extend.....
Will post photos later!
I did not proof read this. Sorry if many typos..
