Working in Madagascar!

Hello everyone!!
I'm so happy to be here in Madagascar! I am thinking the Malagasy people are so nice because they have the cutest animals ever here with them! Lemurs!!
The Malagasy people have been so wonderful and that's what I've decided. The Lemurs are so cute they make everyone here nice.
I'm working now with a Swiss Dentist that I also worked with in Congo last year. We have been seeing maybe 70 patients some days  in the dental clinic. Taking many many teeth out on lots of patients. But also doing quite a few fillings which is nice because that means we are saving a few teeth.
We are definitely keeping the tooth fairy in business here.
So, our wonderful translators have been kind enough to help me learn some Malagasy.
I'm learning useful dental words and also some fun greetings and things like " I'm VERY hungry". The people think it's funny and I usually get a smile from the patients if I use some words in Malagasy.
So it's surprising to see the  culture here is very different from the other countries I've been with Mercy Ships. They wear western clothing and there is a very large Asian influence here. The people take pride in being very neat as well. The Ship yard is extremely clean and we have a beautiful walking path through it to get out into the town.
Our dental clinic is about a 35 minute walk from the port. We have walked home a few times from the clinic.

Julie and I have done two weekend nights out now.. We went on a 3 hour boat ride to an island with lemurs last weekend and this weekend we took a bus two hours away to a beach with lemurs. So on the weekends we are getting to see the lovely  lemurs!!
I promise to post photos later.
This week we are heading off to the prison to do dental work for the prisoners Wednesday- Friday.
If you would like to pray for us while we are there that we can spread the love of Jesus to the prisoners!
